30cc top end upgrade

I am trying verify that I can use my stock crank with this head upgrade. I have the 30cc motor that came stock on it. http://www.davesmotors.com/esp-mod-esp-championship-ported-gp290-36mm-kit-2mm.html The redcat has a 30 mm crank stock right?

Yes, you have a 30.5 motor, so you could use that head kit very easily.

If your stock engine is a 30cc then yes you already have a +2mm crank and the kit will fit.

That would be awesome! Btw, for noobs like myself, could someone briefly explain how this top end gives more power?

The stock cylinders come straight off the die cast machine, with no advanced machining.

The ported cylinders are either CNC machined or old school dremmeled to smooth out surfaces and make them matched to the intake and exhaust. You need to have a degree wheel to see where the piston should be when it is moving past the intake and exhaust.

Got it, so its not actually making it bigger, just smoother. Wouldn't have expected such a big power increase from this. Live and learn

Smoother and more exact. The standard die cast has to be conservative, so they don;t go past the sweet spot.
