I would like to convert my FG MT to 4x4. I have had a look at the chain kit, but thats to much $$$. Do the belt kit hold up? Any reasons to stay away?

the FG conversion is prob the best one out there at the mo.. even though its belt, ive heard nothing of any problems yet with the others, ive heard sotries ;)

nice choice mate, thats an excellent bit of kit, same as my 4WD baja and mine hasnt missed a beat, done about 10 tanks in some harsh conditions with some big jumps, all good though.

OK, then the kit has arrived, it's installed and I have done some testing :)
Working on a bit longer review with pictures, but for now I will say that this kit is amazing!

hows it going for you mate?

i had a bearing in the tensioner fail and was a bit reluctant to take it apart but once I did I realised how easy it was. I changed the bearing and its all good now.

couldnt believe how much dirt got in there though!

The kit is awsome, but I'm working on my brake problem! Upgrading the stock brake for now, and hoping for hydraulic brakes soon.
Would I only need brake calipers on the front or rear tires as they are connected with the belt? If I apply brakes in the rear would that also apply brakes the front tires?
Or would that cause to much stress on the drivetrain? Should I go for front and rear hyd brakes?

Was ready with a review and pictures, but the forum crashed, so I will do my best to put something together one more time, maybe this time I will write it up in Word before I logg in to the forum......

I have a metal geartrain on my standard 2wd truck. Guess this kit is plastic gearing, does it hold up to beating????? Or do the gears where out quickly????

i have yet to have a problem w mine n i have the 4x4 comp version n its just a blast only thing i dnt like is that theres not many aftermarket tires out right now wish we had more to choice from n some other minor things but im gonna try to make my own stuff like bumper but i saw a 2 wheel wheelie bar but cant seem to find were to buy it at does anyone no were i can get one

I'm verry happy with my conversion! The 4x4 kit has hold up well, I have had many hours of driving the last month. But right now my throttle servo has striked out. Bad adjusted EPA, and all my fault.

I have not had the time to write up my review one more time, I learned the hard way to do longer write-ups in Word before I hit submit.
