can anyone advise me on a good suspention setup.

when i bought the car the stock set was crap. i could push car down and it would stay there no rebound.

i bought gpm shocks from hobbytech (alloy bodys) and still not much better (500wt oil) i found the stock springs rubbed on the body quite a bit.

so i went to see stevo at rossindales. who sold me the king cobra ballon springs. n these were ten times better on the rebound. sorted me thinks.

but now on the field as soon as i touch the steering the cars inside rear wheel lifts right up off floor. or car just flips real easy. the handling at first racing friends bajas on grass was amazing. but no movement.

now i get the rebound right the car handles like poop??????

help

maybe try fitting anti rollbars some swear by just fitting the front but in my fg i found it better with both also try a thicker shock oil 500wt sounds very thin ive just changed mine for hpi baja oil 25wt the front is now perfect but its a bit to thin for the rear so im going to try 35/40wt and see how that goes i was using fg oil but the same sort of price you get nearly double the amount of oil so i gave it a go i mainly use mine on grass i don't jump it anymore due to my crap jumping ability but with these cars youre best trying one thing at a time then you know what changes do what

Ive been using the totally stock setup since day 1 mate and think its excellent !
Handles great, takes jumps well and corners well. I would say to start from here so at least you have a known starting point. Plus I reckon it works real well !
Im sure there is an SS manual on the net somewhere with the relavent info....:D

SORRY ! Just realised you were talkin about your FG... NOT your Baja !!!! OOPS !!

I got the balloon springs on the back but also put an anti roll bar on the front on the advice of Ross Mods & it keeps it planted. They told me that with the rear anti roll you loose traction. It seems ok now.
I think the inside tyres lifting also has alot to do with the std FG spiked tyres digging in on corners esp on grass & it flips easily. These are too grippy when they have any decent tread on them. My mates handles totally different cos his spikes are worn from him running on tarmac. It goes round corners better but doesn't have the same grip for acceleration out of them. Maybe change the tyres to something more along the lines of the HPI style & you will see an improvement.

Pete you can not add any useful information, don't get involved. Ha ha

elcon shock mmmm nice they are meant to be about the best shocks out there should give a nice starting point im using fg 20mm fat shocks these are good 100 times better than the cheap ones i got from ebay what started leaking the second i put them on the car now binned i also found the more alloy i put on the fg upgrades ect the better the car behaved due to extra weight
