5b Linkage Question

Ok, I have a dumb (super dumb really) question regarding how the plastic piece on the linkage attaches to the carburetor butterfly. I was replacing the air filter mount with an angled one as I was over dealing with the lack of space when removing the fuel tank and noticed that I must have unhooked the plastic connection that goes to the carb. I noticed that the plastic has a pin but I am not sure if I need to pull it out, slide the plastic onto the butterfly connector and then push the pin back in. I am sure I am overthinking this but want to make sure I don't wad up the Baja the next time I run it due to not having it connected correctly.

Place the pin through the hole on the plate of the carb, then slide plastic bit up and over the pin till in clicks. That locks it in place so it can't come off.
