I've just found this site and it looks great but I have a question that I could not find anywhere. I'm looking at buying a Baja and I can't decide if I should get the SS kit and then convert it to a 5t or just get the 5t RTR. Both have there pros and cons, and they work out to almost the same price but any insite would be great.

if you go for the ss then convert it you will have to build it so you will learn how everything works and make life a bit simpler to fix but if you go for the 5t rtr you will still have to strip the diff as there have been probs i;e no oil in them. in the long run it will cost a lot more to convert the ss to a 5t properly. 5b £800 then conversion cost £400 so that's £1200 and a 5t £900/£1000
 
Which ever way you go you will love it :D The 5t is one of the most highly regarded 5th's on here and the owners reports are all good :cool2:
 
Thanx everyone, I agree that getting the SS kit due to the fact that I can build it myself, get upgrades and it has a cheaper start up cost would be a good starting point. But it would be less money in the long run to get the 5T but do I get all the same upgrades? Now I know i get some of the same ones but I'm not sure. anyone?
SS kit = $880.00 cnd aproxx
conversion kit about = $400 to 600
5T = $1300.00 cnd
5B = $1060.00
 
Buy the 5T and save up and get an SS later. That is what I would do knowing what I know now about each.. I would need both but would love to have the 5T my 1st.
 
No...... I wasn't going to buy two, I'm just woundering what the best way was. But I've decided that I'm going to get the kit. That way I can have fun building it. I haven't built a kit in a long time.

If you;r gonna buy two, why not get one 5T RTR and one SS Kit
