So I broke down after hearing so much crap about redcats. (hobby stores) friends etc. I broke down and bought a brand spankin new 5bss and although hasn't been broken in yet can't go more than half throttle. I can't say I'm impressed. It's takes 25 minutes just to get the dang body off. Everything is so crunched together. It does look nice though. Anyways it doesn't stay planted like my dr and even my dr is converted to 2wd. The 5b does the 180 everywhere it's like you can't keep it going straight. I'm really liking my 400$ used redcat with few mods a lot of people talk crap but to anyone wondering and startin out in this 1/5th scale hobby buy a redcat you'll be very pleased with ease off use and ease to work on. One thing I can say is the 5b has TONS of top end compared to my dr but for now I like my cat. Well see once I get her broken in and the 990 and jetpro v3 on ther. One thing I do know ill always have a redcat, and if I buy another 1/5th it will prob be the mt

The Baja is an awesome vehicle. Don't let brand loyalty or any of that other crap get in the way. Give it fair shake and see how it goes. Otherwise, you just dropped coin on something that you never had any intention of liking. Just saying.

If nothing else, the Baja has incredible aftermarket support. You can do so much with them. A better tire choice can help with the drivability. It just might take a little getting use to. I agree the Redcats are one of the easiest platforms to work on. :)

Ya I really like the aftermarket options and all that and how fast it is. I'll keep this thread updated After its broken in and I see how she goes bashing. Thanks for all the input! And one quick question, what do you guys think about the king motor clone most 75% parts fit without mod worth saving a few bucks to make a 5t with all Baja aftermarket parts?

I have had a KM 5b clone and currently have the T2000 4wd truck. They are not bad surprisingly. It's the same story with the KM's too - upgrade the electronics soon and loctite everything you can and they will last for a while. Plus RCDAD is right - if a part breaks, most people upgrade and not replace with stock parts.

I did a trade for an old dirtbike that didn't run very well. im startin to think its a clone you can't tell at all when it's sitting next to my all my friends 5b's or racing them running etc. but on the tires it came with it says km racing so I called the kid back and called him out on it. Saying its not an hpi and that's what the trade was for. So he gave me a team associated rc10 gt2 with a whole bunch of stuff and a t-Maxx 3.3. So I'm happy. Like he said if anything breaks I'll just replace with hpi part pretty soon it will be a 5b I'm droppin a obr mod motor and the jetpro v3, 990 crb etc. and all rpm arms and that. Already put desperado wheels and bow ties. All around all I can say is I'm happy with it. Also off topic might just not care cause I got myself a 06 Yamaha r6 last night :) and I love it it's made me real happy sorry for the poor punctuation and Long post I'm bein lazy right now just worked 16 hrs
