Thinking about getting some 5t wheels with hostile mx's for my xb, should i lower the gearing, or will adding a pipe and 8k clutch spring work without having to lower gearing? I'm assuming i wouild have to go with the xt gearing...I'm looking to add ground clearance and 5b fronts seem too narrow, and 5b rears seem to wide, im hard to please lol...

Re: 5t wheels

Stick with your gearing as if you will loose a lot of speed with 35 25 and if you reverse it you will have a ton of speed but will be a pooch off the line.

go with 5b front rims and mx tires all around. 5t are too tall for the xb but 5b are perfect. as for gearing 31/29/25/25 works great with 5b size tires.

Re: 5t wheels

You could slap those 5t size on with 29 31 with more speed and minor loss of low end
