I'd like to offer you the best of luck dude. I know people who have looked into this, from both as a sole distributor and retail. First of all you have to look at exactly what you want to supply because it's not just cars, it's everything that comes with it like radio stuff, parts, wheels & tyres, tools paints ...... the list goes on. You should know as an enthusiast how fickle people are in that they change their mind as quick as their undercrackers, so you need look at maybe not just largescale and not just 1 make of car. A good place to start might be to look at the smaller end of the model car hobby store kind of place (e.g Freeprawn racing) but even these would need 20 or 30k to set up.

Again, best of luck.

To be a dealer most distributors will require you to be setup in a retail (brick and mortar) of a specific square footage and provide a pictures documenting it stocked and your name on the outside of the building. I know in another hobby I had to provide proof that I had been in business for at least 2 years. In the end I did not get the dealer pricing as I had only been in business 6 months:) It didn't help that another dealer had also applied and they only allow one in a certain radius, so mine was the least desirable as they were established in the area.

If you can't provide any of that you are probably going to be stuck with just simple quantity breaks instead of the better dealer discounts. Not much profit there and can't be competitive.

Not clear what you are thinking about doing, but if it is being a distributor expect the requirements to be even more restrictive as they will want to make sure you have a proven record and can move their products.

Not trying to discourage you. Just know that there are a lot of things you will have to consider.

well you could start small, or you could invest in a franchise such as a hobbytown usa.

if you want to start small you may want to look into maybe becoming a dealer for aftermarket parts and start off like that. however, if you wish to go with the clones feel free to hit me up, i have done massive leg work and have contacts for them direct from china as well as there requirements.

i would post a link to the info but unfortunatley i am tired of some sniveling whiner constantly reporting me for posting links to the topics on my forum where the info is located at, and i am not going to copy and paste articles, pics, etc because it is more time consuming than just posting teh thread link on my forum.

with that all said, i also have a contact in the heli area should you wish to consider carrying the align Trex heli clones ;)
