A friend of mine has two LiPo 7.2 or 7.4 volt batteries he bought for his helicopter but don't fit... They fit nicely into my battery box on my XT. He will sell them to me for $10 each. They are new... Never used. Will the stock servos on the Xt handle this voltage?
 
I agree, its the perfect opportunity to upgrade the stock servos. Those stock servos are a ticking time bomb just waiting to fail on you. Believe me, you don't want that to happen when the XT is running at 40 mph and your throttle/brake servo fails and jams open at wide open throttle. You will need both steering and throttle/brake servos that can handle 7.4 volts Lipo.
