Took our camper to a site for the season so missus drove that and I followed in car. A steady 60mph over the 200 mile journey and I got 74.6mpg :w00t: This is a 5yr old 150bhp Astra diesel with 123k miles on the clock - not bad eh??!!!! VW bluemotion - Ive poop em :lol::lol:

Feckin gearbox shat itself yesterday It did the same 6 months ago but luckily I still got 2 weeks of warranty left!! It was supposed to be a reconditioned box but I reckon they tried pulling a fast 1 & it was just out of another car and not reconditioned cos it has never sounded right in 6th. There has always been a slight whine which developed into serious problems with 1st, 2nd, 5th & 6th then complete bearing failure on my trip down the M1.
The warranty options were 12months / 12k miles or 6months unlimited mileage which I suppose is why they would take a risk with a box that hadn't been recon'd cos average Joe would just be tootling round town and not doing any major mileage or long journeys. Unlucky for them they gave it to me on the 6mth unlimited mileage and even with 2wks off for Christmas and a week off at end of Jan I still done 14k miles with 2weeks warranty left.
Trips to Norwich and Ipswich every week this year have meant 5hrs constant driving and any dodgy bearings will soon get hot & deteriorate quickly which looks to be the case here.
Just hope they sort it quickly then I can get out of this gutless feckin corsa 1.2 hairdryer
