whats been done to it??? got any pics of it...im likin' the dark colours....got any shots of it during the day?

Quoted directly from You Tube...

Quote::"This run was done prior to tuning and with a completely stock motor. Im not allowed to say what motor or gearing was used on this one." End Quote::

Completely stock motor? But your not allowed to "Say" what MOTOR or gears have been used? Huh... So, what's the deal? I doubt the authenticity of this...

Why are you "Not Allowed" to disclose the specs of the engine and gears? I understand a bullshit 'Tube video, but why would you post it here? Be real with us, or go away!!

Trip..

i could beleive the motor is a well tuned stock Zenoah 260. but it has a tuned pipe, and some extremely tall gearing on that FG, and the guy with the screwdriver prolly is pretty effecient at turning the screws to get the most out of the motor.

but saying it did 78, but cant say what pipe and what gearing is useless. its that type of "Secret" that will dismiss any claims you try to proove. a radar gun isnt proof, i know you have read this same thing on RCU! it can be recalibrated, so it leaves suspection with the viewer on whether the RADAR Gun has been screwed with, or why the gearing is SECRET. also being so DARK OUT< how can you proove the gun was not calibrated in Km/hr mode and not MPH. its too dark to see the screen well and see the MPH not the KM/H mode... doesn't anyone of you have a flashlight you can light the sreen up with? hell a bic lighter would work.

kinda like going in the bathroom to pull one off, and useing the washer and dryer as PULL OFF inspiration.
sure it is what is is but who cares. lol

Wow, such negativity in here. I guess making a claim is useless in here. But whats worst is when you make a claim, then post a vid of the claim. I guess unless some sort of official from the Guinness Book of World Records is there any claim is useless. This is just like stating that anyone in this forum owns any kind of “large scale” RC. Do I have to ask for a vid to prove it, or maybe even better, a copy of the receipt stating that its yours? I’ll answer a few of the questions asked. You assume what you may afterwards.

Motor: Stock (as said before) Zenoah G240. Only mod made to motor was a V-stack to accept the K&N filter
Bearings: Boca Bearing FG ceramic set of 14
Pipe: Jetpro Marder
Gearing: 26/38
Wheels: FG slicks painted black
Body: stock baja body painted black
Wing: stock baja wing painted black
Remote: Futaba Fasst
Fuel: 93 Octane from Shell
Purpose: This was built only to run top end. Has never seen the dirt.
Radar gun: Never calibrated. Taken out of the package the day prior to making the run. We usually use 2 guns but since it was just a testing night, we only took the one. If you look closely, you can see that the gun says “MPH” the words “KMH” would have shown lower on the screen of the gun.

Like I said prior, You assume what you may after this but this will definitely be the last vid I post on the forum. Thanks for your support.

a few things. one its an FG Baja, not a HPI baja, that alone may of confused some folks, and will make a differance in the possible validity of the statement.

Now with this information, i can SEE how its much more likely to be a a valid claim. and you have nothing SPECIAL going on or TRICKS up your sleeve, if you have been forthcoming and honest, which i would say you have. a 23cc in stock form can and if tuned tight, will outrev a 26, so more rpms, means more mph, and that is some TALL GEARING just as i said it was, also bring more validation to the claim.

Dude, you make a pretty tall claim and show a Dark hard to see video, and show a decent radar gun that you can Barely make out the screen on, and can nt see if the mode is M/H or K/h. then only say its a baja and has a stock motor on it, giveing no information as to any specs to help validate you claim.

i for one will believe it, but full disclosure of the rigs setup is going to be needed. all i am saying is post the info that will help support your claim. we re not a bunch of dumb and un seasoned rc kids that believe something is true becuz we saw a youtube video of it. Most of what you will find in the large scale group of people, are professionals, engineers, and generally older and more educated guys who wont just bite becuz we see a vid and a claim. we need to be convinced, and useing the specs that you just posted certainly help convience me the claim is at least as valid as it can be with out my self being there to witness it in person.

you don't have to go away, or not post any vids, but when making a claim of 68mph baja, or jumping 130 feet down a sand dune with a baja, expect people to call bull poop without good facts, and as nice as video is, its only half of the info needed to convience the average Large Scale enthusiest. i would REALLY DOUBT a HPI Baja claim of anything over 60mph without good info to support it, Just as i would really doubt a FG Baja making a 130 ft jump down a sand dune and driving away totally unscathed.

I wouldn't doubt these miami speed freaks, they've been at it a while now with various vids in the past posting 70mph+ speeds. It's funny no one doubts that a 23cc sportline can hit 70mph but say fgbaja and no one believes you?? I own a well upgraded fgbaja with a 2 speed and whilst I'm not making any mph claims, it is definitely fast...it could be made to go very fast with little effort, throw on my slicks and switch out my gears off I go...
Maybe just for the hell of it I'll give it a go sometime...I've a friend in the rcmp who could clock it...watch this space

my Bergonzoni Brave Sedan was clocked at 62 mph using a lightly Modified Boss 23 cc Reed Case motor which is rated stock at 3.7 HP at 17,000 RPM with a stock can. I was runnign a 3stage aluminum tuned pipe, which probably was making a total of 6hp around 15,500 rpms.

the gearing was the stock single speed (22T P and 46T pinion). the radar used was mounted on a dash of a cop car. im pretty sure its accurate. lol but i took no video, and other than me and the cop no one else was around to verify it.

Its not that i doubt the claim, but with the limited info that was supplied in the original post, its only natural to ? the validity of it.

It was my mistake not to post the kind of Baja it was but if you look around, down here, one of the guys that runs with us built a 62MPH HPI Baja. Check Miamizfinest videos on youtube. The G240 was chosen because of the revs. Its nothing but a 23 but called a 240 to differentiate (if thats a word) the G230 2bolt from the 23CC 4 bolt. We did some testing and found that it didnt have the torque but it had the RPM and thats what we were looking for. Right now, down here in Miami, its hard to find somewhere to run something that big offroad so we turn them into onroads. There are no tracks to run even a 1/10 scale onroad so we turn those into speed machines as well because you find plenty of empty streets. Thats not my personal Baja but I did build it for a friend. My personal Baja only runs 70 but it has regular onroad sized wheels. I also have a Sportline which I'll be posting vids of by monday and let you all decide whether its real or fake.

ya ive seen his vids and the claim. also believable considering the work that has been done with it. hes build a strong and quick 5B for sure. its not a mistake at all Behere, just something you are going to want to do when posting what to most will seam as an unrealistic or unreasonable claim. with the info you put up, i have not doubt 70s and even high 70s is possible.

actually you may be surprised at the differances between a G230RC and the newer G240RC motors.
sure they are both 23ccs, that and the case assembly, crank, carb, ect is all the same, but the cylinders are four bolt, oppossed to 2 bolt. the port specs (timeing and degrees) are of the older G23 motor. they are not the quite the same port specs of the G230RCs. the 240 also has Dual Clutch side crank bearings installed, with the outter bearing being a rubber shielded, insead of one crank bearing on each side of the conrod setting in the cases, and a rubber oil seal on the outside. only the flywheel side has a rubber seal. when most crank bearing went bad, the rubber seal on the clutch side was typically shot, and the oil seals are worn, which likley allowed crud to seap past it and take out the crank bearing on that side. ya its a 23, but its quite different, and does perform a bit differently becuz of the port specs and the exhaust and intak timeing specs.

but non the less, you guys are making some killer runs. it great to see them, atleast what can be seen considering the darkness of the videos. you guys should bring a small gass generator down and a few bright ass Hologen lights, and shine a bit of light on the topic. plus it would be easier to see that cars and action for us old bastages... lol
