that should do it, starting procedure varies do to no choke, I read a nice thread on it somewhere... but basicaly it was prime the bulb, blip the throttle 0nce or twice and fire it up... mine always starts nice like this and throttle repsonse in awesome.

here's a thread...

PLUG THE HOLE in the back side exsposing the thotlle shaft to prevent vacum leak and dirt from entering motor.

WOW what a difference the 813 carb makes from the stock carb. Even the exhaust sounds different and the performance is not even comparable. Only ran it for a few minutes but tomorrow i am really gonna bash and fine tune the carb. thanks for the replies also.

Just been looking at the 813 on DDM. I am due to get the Maverick blackout (AKA Rampage MT) this has a 30.5cc stock engine which is CY.

The Rampage PRO V3 has the same type of upgraded engine. with this in mind do you think i'll need the 813 Carb to compliment my CPI pipe or will the stock Carb do? if 813 could someone point me in the direction of which Gaskets i'll also need to order.

Many Thanks

What about the walbro wt-990 its suppose to be better than the 813 but I havnt seen any guys using the 990.
The 990 apparently is EXactly same as 813 without the accelerator pump. I Remember reading it may be useful with higher reving motors...

So will the 990 be better suited to the 30.5cc engine?

I think I have a problem with my 813 accelerator pump. Dam thing takes like 20 pumps for it to startup.
Cat i have the 813 carb and i have the same problem takes like 5-10 pumps to get gas even in the bulb, im thinking a carb kit or maybe a new carbs (wt-990) in order.

bought mine this past may worked great for power jam, now i have crazy idle speed and sometimes after full throttle it will die when i stop but i can start it right back up, i could u,derstand if i messed with the settings but i tuned it for the race and that was the only time so i am gonna try the new 990 and see how it does.

I don't know what carb is the best but i am pretty sure the stock one stinks i had all sorts of problems with mine after a few tanks in. replaced with 813 and never looked back.

Both of my 813s work well BUT they act like nitros, as when they idle for a while with no throttle input they get rich aftera while, which lowers the idle, then the engine dies. I have to keep blipping it to keep it from running rich when idling it seems. Other than that 3 pumps, fire it up, they run great................so far.

Ya my idle is always erratic too. I think a rebuild is in order cause I think I got a leak somewhere. I don't trust the dam thing cause the throttle shaft wiggles around like crazy. They need to stick in a brass bushing with an oring where the shaft enters the body. Every used 813 I've ever seen has a wobbly throttle shaft after a few months.

I think ive got 2 or 3 813s in my basement all of them have the wobbly throttle shaft. Im going to stick with a 668 from now on.
