990 walbro Carb Question

I put a 990 Walbro Carb on my XT and love it But it takes me for ever to start the truck, about 15 pulls or more - cold start only. Once started it runs great, very please with the performance. My question is are there any tricks that will allow me to start my truck in 3 pulls or less?

You can put a small plastic bag over the filter. You can also remove the filter and plug the stack with your thumb. Both act like a choke.

x2. do the bag. nothing to unscrew. usually cranks w/in 3 pulls. it will start w/the filter in the bag. once it does remove the bag & go.

990 carb starting

i just put one on my xb and it starts on the second or third pull. i prime it about 5 pumps. squeeze the throttle wide open quick then give it a pull fires right up love this carb it holds a tune great.

I can get mine to start by 3 pulls cold start as long as its tuned correctly
