I am hearing of folks having their wheel bearings failing but all of my issues have been with the transmission, uggh!

Damn Buzz! I agree something isnt right there. You running a vented or non vented cover?

I am running with a vented cover (due to previous gears ripping into it)

I got a set of those old first batch Himoto gears that were soft and they did the same thing. Better check the hardness on those suckers with a file before you run em.

Essentially, If you can file them easily they aren't hard enough.
