well had the rampage out today runing and testing that the vent mod was working and it was,it kept dieing on me at idle,so i leaned out the low end needle a bit,and started tuneing from there,got it runing pretty good i think,so i started runing up and down the dirt road doing donuts and powersides.


this car pulled up and start watching and saying he use to have a couple rc,and he sat and watched a little,and then goes,(would you take 200 for it) i was like nope this is my baby.he said yea figure you wouldnt take it,went on his way,


well about 15mins after he left. did a power slide to turn around,and the engine just rev up,had no drive,went to push it.it was locked up,engine still runing,so carryed it back to the house(should of brought the truck) and pulled the gear cover off and all the gears were striped .





had an extra set that came with the truck when i got it new,going to get other set next time at the lhs

Yeah the plastic gears are no good. They are short lived.

yea,going to wait till till there is more ratios for the belt drive and get that,

these gears did good,they been on there for a year or more.

BTW you should have told the guy you'd take $200 plus the car he drove up in.

Just to be sure, check the pinion shaft etc...

I stripped metal gears and cracked a gear plate when a set screw backed out.

yea thats what happen here,put a bit of red loctie on the pinion gear,and where the gearbox hooks to the driveline.

yea i should of,ill keep that in mine. next time somthing like that happens,

it was fun to let the rampage rip.

Try some steel C/D gears. I'm running plastic MCD A/B gears and steel C/D gears. They're holding up pretty well.

Ahaha. I've got a box full of them, may as well run them. I'm actually surprised they last as long as they do, considering the MT is known for eating gears like crazy.

Plastic gears here as well. So far so good, I just vented the gear case well after I put my pipe on, and no problems yet.

yea,i have holes in the cover,guess ill need to make them bigger.
