I just posted that my failsafe malfunctioned - my truck took off and flipped over at wide open throttle until the engine stopped ! Well I couldn't start it again - come to find out that it must have run too lean when upside down - and I ended scaring the piston and cylinder on the exhaust side . Hence - not enough compression to start ! Now I have to order another 30.5 race ported and machined piston and cylinder from OBR and go through the painful break - in all over again !!!! Just a heads - up in case anyone else has a similar experience ! :(

I never go through a break in period. idle for a couple few mins to warm it up and drive it like I stole it and tune the engine. I used to use the onb break in method but have found my motors run fine with the thrash method. recently done this with 3 new engines and they all run awesome...

sucks to have this stuff happen. at least these motors cost less to fix than an expensive nitro engine. did you figure out the kill switch and failsafe problem yet?

Not yet , Killer rc said that I might have to adjust and bind my radio - but for now - just waiting for my new top - end from OBR . Thanks for the feedback I would much rather put the engine back together then go thrash !!!

@pipeous: I will try your break in method next time my engine breaks.

Ohh yea, that will be hella fun run. Back to topic.

I broke my 30.5 cause of air leak. Had to replace carb parts and buy cheaper head kit to save up money. Now I am running 28.7cc. To be hones I don't feel that much of a difference. Hence either previous owner broke in 30.5 really badly or I broke in 30-35 kit very well.
