So today went to milestone raceway with the xt to take it on the track for the first time to play around with a few baja buddies everything was going well for about 15 min then stuff just started to break first was my steering servo which is a hitech for some reason an ic blew itself right off the circuit board fixed by using a stock servo. Then the front universal drive joint exploded man someone has got to see about beefing these up replaced with a spare. Then for the final blow to make sit the side lines rear gear box failed and destroyed itself, man this needs to be beefed up also. only got about 2 tanks in then done. It was handling real nice out there and taking the jumps like a champ till all that happened. Other than all this that happened i had fun at the track for the first time.

I had two questions:

1) When the CVD went out did it just bust the outer housing and the main pin on the joint stayed intact or did both break? A breakage on one side of the pin would typically break the housing on the opposite side. Also, is what's left of the pin still centered in the joint? I'm asking because if the pin slide to one side it will disengage from the housing on that side and typically destroy the pin and the housing.

2) When you said the rear gearbox failed does that mean the diff housing broke? If so did it break where the center driveshaft and input drive cup enter the diff housing? That's where we have seen several failures.

Most likely damage is where the center input drive cup is. I had 6 failures and went thru six rear enclosures now . All it takes couple small bumps on the track and its gone. I did try to fit TT box but end up doing some supports out of baja carrier rear carrier. I`ll post it at project forum later on.

the main pin is in tack and centered and it broke the outer drive axial that hold the front tires on and the gear box failed where the center driveshaft and input drive cup enter the diff housing. If someone could come up with an aluminum one or even a quick change that would be sweet. Even the bajas had this problem when they first came out so it would be nice to get a better aftermarket following to help out with these issues one day. other than that i really like my xt as hopups come out i will be picking them up.
