I am thinking about getting one of these for the Mut, (FG Clone for those of you that have no idea what I am talking about) Has anybody tried one of these pipes? I thought for 55 bucks shipped to my door, it should be worth a shot...

I don't care for the exit location being on the side, but I think the buggy wing will protect it for the most part.

Any thoughts or comments?

If you had an extra 55 bones, would you buy it?

pretty cheap for sure. too bad they don't show one mounted. no mounting bracket though for the end. I imagine youi could drill the end part for a wire though

Any pipe will be better then stock. That pipe does look like its a bit small. It might be as small as the SS pipe? I wonder how much cutting she will have to do to mount it?

Here are some more pics of it mounted. Towards the bottom of the page, the pipe has the exit out the top??? But the tires on that vehicle are the monster tires. the pic shows the mounting in the back, it's a little spring. It looks similar to the Savage SS pipe mount.

If you search around on that site, they have a few different tires and wheels. I like the different styles, nice change from the spikes or M/T Chevron/paddle type. A few pipes for the redcat and a bigger version of the Redcat... It says it's 1/4 scale! But it looks about the same to me..

nice thick header plate to mount on. bonus. looks like a decent length header section, but maybe only 5/8ths. don't look like 3/4 or 7/8ths header pipe. decent tuned section. should be a good low to low mid pipe. maybe a decent top rpm, but i wouldnt expect it to be a speed demon.

the pipe looks like its designed for accelleration 'cos its short
if you look at most other pipes they are a lot longer
always thought you need a long pipe for better top speed
not an expert tho' and welcome other peoples thoughts
:)

<<<<<<< perhaps you saw that baja here <<<<<<

see this thread, the pipe worked very well for the price (I worked out the acceleration with my GPS, see below), but I found it fragile, two whacks on teh back and it ripped off at the header (in all fairness it was a nasty full speed cartwheel down a hill). if you can support/protect the back of the pipe then it'll do you proud.

I now have a JetPro, which I compared against the cheap pipe here:
https://www.largescaleforums.com/showthread.php?t=9652

as for performance thease were the results from my GPS

Acceleration
3.5 m/s/s Stock pipe
6.0 m/s/s max Chinese pipe (0 to 25mph)
7.5 m/s/s Jetpro - 0 to 25mph
5.0 m/s/s Jetpro - 25 to 40 mph

Top Speed
40.0 mph Stock pipe
39.1 mph Chinese pipe
38.0 mph Jetpro

I thought I recognized that Baja... Sorry, it's been awhile, I forgot a lot of stuff, but I'm remembering more stuff everyday. I think I am just going to buy an FG Tuning pipe and call it done.
