First if you haven't bought one already, get a kill switch from Killer Bee. Second, replace parts as they break. I can tell you from my experience with this that money spent on aftermarket poop that you don't really need will add up QUICK!!! Besides the kill switch, the sc definitely needs front brakes. The layshaft brake alone is not enough for quick and accurate braking. Im looking into getting a hydraulic set for mine. Had cable brakes before and didn't like them. Are you running in sanctioned races that have rules or just with friends?

haw thank you i was going crazy on how parts added up in my head :cup-1:

I would stick with the plastic A Arms ect and maybe upgrade the drive train, turtle racing clutch setup, tr quick diff, tr tranny plate, tr shock tower's ect, better dogs bones and cups, better servo's kb kill switch they're the basic upgrades most owners go for... you can also go crazy with many more upgrades......

If you're racing at proper events on a proper track, I wouldn't bother with a kill switch as you wouldn't beable to react quick enough to prevent a crash and a good marshall would be able to get to your car quick enough anyway to switch it off.

In the states all the major events for 5th scales require a kill switch in order to race and they check the kill switch before each race. So it is required in the states.

While I'd never trust one, I'd agree to having them for bashing but not racing. I know when the guys from the UK went racing in the US at the worlds, they were not required to have them.

i think its a good thing to have. i know we all have opinions but a kill switch is a good thing. what do you trust. the battery, reciever, a mechanical undoing. i trust my kill switches and have had my ass saved more than once. sure a turn marshal can get your car. but lets say, some DA lets his transmitter batts go dead or what ever and now the car is coming down the straight headed right for joe, except the car doesn't slow and make the turn. the 30lbs. car nails joe in the ankles, breaks them and his legs, ruining joes life over a toy car race. ide say go for the kill switch, they work and can be trusted. killer rc killerbee pico, that is. they don't fail, just do your pre check every so often to insure no connections have come loose and it is functioning properly.

you may have a lot of experience racing or whatever, but to recommend no kill switch is crazy. for the publics safety at the least. if you don't care about your car thats one thing but don't hurt someone by neglageance.

not to mention say the turn marshal does have the car and your car is at wot. how the hell is he supposed to help you by killing whill the tires are ballooning, exploding, and spraying him with dirt, lol! jesus.

Hi Jesus, you're so right that everyone has their own opinion. I race in a controlled enviroment, there isn't a single racer in the uk and possibly all of europe that race in national championship or international meetings that use a kill switch. Race cars and checked, charged and checked again between races - in most cases by the driver, his mechanic, a mate or even another driver.

The average track length is 400 meters so for example we have a track with a long sweeping curve at the end, you can/need to keep the power on all round the corner, IF half way round you had and issue, there would not be time to react before the car stuffs itself into the fence. The marshalls are all in protected areas or at the very least, somewhere out of the way with good vision.
Like I say, I've nothing against kill switches but it's just something else to go wrong and I could probably fine some examples on this forum where they haven't worked.

Mike

i agree, as it fails or you break it, replace it. although, imo, the clutch carrier, bell is pos. might upgrade that if you don't mind dropping the dough up front, along with that kill switch. :)
