air filter snorkel

hi all just wondering if anyone can tell me what this does and were and how it would be fitted. I know it fits on the carb somewhere, i was just wondering if it would be much of an upgrade, or if its not worth bothering.

These are a very good air filter system, I used to use this when I was racing onroads, no good for off roads.....

There is better systems now on the Market as these are prety old now.

FG make a better snorkel than that but again only good for on road, you roll and it comes off say goodbye to engine
