How long did you run it? The reason I'm asking is because those high flow cone filters like the K&N are meant for onroad use and you'll suck up dirt into the engine if used offroad.

i cleaned the filter, runs good with it off.
I have seen this several times. My guess is there is to much oil on the filter, or to thick of oil & it's acting like a choke on. Re clean it & just try running it once the filter is dry & clean without actually driving the truck. I bet it's better ! I would not run that filter off-road though & would run an HPI for best protection. Outerwares is a MUST for the cone filters.

I would trust the stock filter from rerdcat before that cone filter.

to many cons about it

1)staying clean..

2) getting wet and letting air in is a issue.

3)as said, to much oil will restrict it badly.

4) not like a 2 stage filter.

best thing to do to check it is,

soak it in gas to clean it up or use brake cleaner(option) to clean it

then check it with a flash lite to see if you can see some lite

then run it dry for a few...

then you will know if the filer element is no good...

You could but I wouldn't for a long time. For a short time it should be ok as long as it's not dusty. I mentioned that to you the other day.

What do i neet to mount the HPI filter.

Do you have some links our parts number.
