Hi all,

I was wondering what people suggest for a different air filter. I have read the post that suggests the HPI air filter and for that I was wondering if anybody is running it with this:

In order to avoid the issue with the throttle arm.

Also do any of these filters fit and would they actually provide better performance compared to stock or HPI?

Also is this Redcat filter actually an upgrade:

Thanks,

I cant speak for the ones you linked as i never tried them. What I use is the HPI stock Baja filter and some outerwears and it has worked out good for me so far. The only thing i had to change to get the airfilter to fit was cross the throttle and brake linkage and bend it a little differently pretty easy mod.

The ShreadStack will help with the throttle linkage issue. I wouldn't trust those other filters. The Baja filter is what most use, and offers better protection against dirt and dust. You might want to pick up a pre-filter, too.

The Shreadstack will allow better clearance for the throttle linkage, BUT it will also cause the Baja filter to hit the body even more,

Don't bother with those paper filters. They are on-road only. HPI filter, Uni Filter w/ Redneck, or the FG filter are all good. The FG filter is slightly offset so it helps clear the linkages. I would still be running it but I had to give it away when I sold my FG 4x4 and just havn't gotten another since then.

Thanks!

I ended up going with the HPI stock air filter and the RC Inclined ShreadStack in order to not having to modify the link. I also bought one of the Pre-filters.

Thanks for every bodies input.
