Here's my NewBie ignorance !!
I've actually BOUGHT a CNR vented cap, not knowing it's vented!
Where does the centre tube from the cap go to?

The truck already has a larger and smaller tube exiting the tank, going to the carburettor.
Thanks.

So that really is a vent tube?
Is there are problem with fuel feed to the carburettor created if I fit this - will it lower the pressure?
I'm used to nitro engines with the exhaust actually feeding a tube INTO the tank to pressurise it.

OK. I understand that bit. Even the old, 'safest petrol tank is a full one'.
Is it likely that I will need to reset the carburettor once the vent tube is fitted?
I also understan the 'obvious' that the tube outlet should be above the level of the fuel to avoid syphoning ... !!

I see that the FG one does have small vent holes anyway.
I've removed the seal on the CNR cap, and will use the FG insert, and clamp this onto the tank with the CNR cap, plus have used the tubing, obviously away from the exhaust, using Duct tape to hold it firmly to the roll cage.
I think this covers most items you mentioned.
Thanks anyway.

Your settings will not be effected.

You can get a quick fill aluminum gas cap for the FG's made by Lauterbacher. Krikke racing sells them fro about $40US. I have one on my FG Baja. :cool2:

hi guys
iv got a rsx racing brand alloy fuel cap with fg insert fitted on my fg mt.
and with it screwed on straight and tight when full, the bloody thing leaks.
do you guys find this happens with all alloy caps ??
thanks
glen

Never had any leak issues with mine. I also had to vent the tank with a few lines. With the quick fill I can fill it up without removing the Baja body since the stock cap is pretty close to the body.

Make sure you are fully tightening it. The alloy caps have a tendency to feel tight but they are not. Turn it tight.

BtB, what are the wheels you've got on the truck, they look stunning?
Are they alloy?
Is the offset the same as stock - or even more?
What are the tyres?
What diameter are they? Same?
Mounting?
