Hi!

Is it neccessary to upgrade the plastic engine mount on the MT to an aluminium one?

I believe he's talking about the gear plate. In which case, I'd say it's not necessary. I'm still running the plastic one without any issues.

While we're on the subject of motor mounts, that Python billet motor mount is great. Don't have to worry about losing those spacers, anymore.

No guys, I am talking about the engine mount, not the gear plate. So the engine mount is aluminium? Then what is the difference when compared to the Python billet motor mount? Is it just the spacers?

From the factory the engine is mounted using two aluminum spacers. The Python mount is a one piece design and makes engine removal and installation easier. Also, since it's a one piece mount, it's a lot more solid.

I use one also. I drilled and tapped a hole in the middle so it's now bolted to the chassis. It's always in the right spot now for easier engine installs.
