Are the aluminum diff cases any good?

I use both front and rear. Thier worth every penny.A stock chassis has a lot of chassis flex causing the bearing to get hot and melt the diff. case.

I believe your talking about the 7075RC diff cases for the Xseries.??

I don't own a set, but I have never read of any issues with them.
