I've always wondered about that! Makes sense, as well. I'll try that on my next build.alfred e numan said:Check this out. They say when the things are oiled up- first time the engine lights off- its glazed and will never be seated or hold compression as well as a dry assembly. They have recorded the compression readings to back this up. I have assembled top ends with the rings dry many times on 2 stroke dirt bikes. I did not record the compression readings.- They ran better- i swear!! Next engine build on the cats- or whatever, it gonna be bone dry- just a bit of premix on the rod ends-mains. --
