Well, I ran my new 5755mg servo for like half hour and it starting slowing down and then finally went up in smoke...literally. Either I have really bad luck with steering servos or I'm doing something wrong. To add insult to injury, I went to install my replacement 805mg servo that I just got back from Hitec a few days ago and it doesn't work. Just doesn't turn, I hear it buzzing when powered up but no movement. I guess servos really don't like me. I'm curious...what steering servos you guys running that actually last?

Ok, but what about the new replacement servo? I didnt even run it. Also, I'm using the stock radio which doesn't have EPA options. I do have a radio that does have EPA but I'm not using it right now. So , one has to switch radios when running these trucks?

The stock radio does have the st-trim & st-dr. When set right, you should not here the servo hum when in the center position. If it's buzzen it's fighting itself. Or maybe you just had a run of bad luck. My 5755 is still in the box. I'm waiting until the stocker goes out. They do go out if you forget to shut off the power also.

This is true the best way I have found to make sure you are at the center of the servo is once the new servo is plugged in and installed turn your radio setting servo to 0 turn the radio on and turn the car on let the servo cycle and when it stop it should be at center place the servo horn on the servo at this time making sure the servo arm is straight once you have placed the servo arm on the servo turn off the radio and the car and then tighten the servo screw. Never tighten you servo arm screw with the servo turn on this could easly destroy the servo. After that you should have the servo at dead center with no humming.

On the X platform the bellcrank arm comes into contact with the servo bulkhead. I ended up shaving off a a section of that bulkhead to prevent it from hitting. Before, I had to set my EPA on that side much shorter than I wanted to to prevent contact. I can imagine somebody stressing their servo out if they didn't have EPA capability on the radio. Also, flip your steering linkages around where they protrude away from the suspension arm. Right now on full steering throw they come into contact with the swaybar linkages.

Can I get a visual of that when you get a chance?

I was getting some humming when I turned on the RX with the last servo that smoked up. Didnt think it was an issue, guess it was.

Thanks. I'll try that the next go round. It just sucks to be down without a servo and a HITEC replacement may take a while to arrive. A little disappointed that they sent me a dud replacement too. I may just get a cheap one so I can run this week/weekend. I just got my jetpro pipe and I was just tuning it in..(sick power :D ) when this happened:(
