Hiya folks
I was on fleebay UK (for a change)and came across a set of baja anti roll bars(the type thats on the arms not roof) and was thinking are they worth getting for off-road?
Opinions please.

it depends on what you are doing really. if the terrain is very rough you want more independant suspension. if you do more flat and cornering then they can help with body roll. depends what I am driving but I tend to like them even in rougher tracks. I like to hit hard on corners and make the inside move braking and the rollbars help not rolling due to body roll and traction rolling.

it's personal preference and depends a lot on how you drive and what you drive on. I don't have them on my vw but that's because I don't have fg arms and the springs are super stiff

I tried them on my baja and they made it too skatey in the bum and also lost steering response.

I prefer not.

I run the front shocks soft and the rears hard......don't ask me about oil weight coz I have no idea.......all the pistons are the same...solid with 2- 2mm holes.......tractor hydraulic oil up front...........castor oil out back.

Handles great with heaps of steering......and doesn't guts out the rear end.........no matter how much air it gets.

yes and no. as mentioned above, they can help but they can hurt depending on situation and track condition.

dirt oval, sure. running mostly flatish surfaces they can help. but on turned up tracks with alot of uneven surface, they can limit traction and suspension movents as noted.

im still learning alot about suspension setups. its been 25 yrs since i dinked with any susupension poop. and then it was on bikes...

I have used them and liked them on most of my RCs. I do have them on my Baja and find they help with cornering, though I do run mainly on flat-ish grass. I do agree with what the guys say about them maybe not being such a good idea on really bumpy stuff as the suspension needs to work more independantly.
But I found my Baja was lifting an inside front wheel occasionally on cornering, and the rear roll bar sorted that out !!
I think to put it in a nutshell...... its personal taste !!
Try 'em and see :clown::clown:

I have just bought a front anti roll bar for the marder. The advise from the chaps that race 5th's at Ross Mods was that the front is a good thing. It will help with steering response and stability in corners. In contrast, they advised to stay away from the rear anti roll bar as it takes away a lot of traction.

hi voo, ive been away abit, have you a baja now

Yes Chop, its not a HPI but a KM.If you have a look here I think its well worth the money. It came with a carbon fibre effect painted shell and all the alloy you need for a good bashing! 2.4Gig radio, tools(not talking about jacko)manuals, oil mix bottle,battery,charger,29cc CY,DDM Dom pipe, antenna pipe, servos, reciver, not bad for £500.Add juice and go! so to speak.

The one on the site I pasted is not the one I bought but near enough, mine has the DDM and the painted shell. This is the most detailed site as the other one had pretty poor pictures and literature.
