that is the stock hpi inner air filter foam BTW, pj1 was applied per directions on can and BOTH of my inner foams look like the one pictured above only the one i have on it now isnt as bad as this one.

There might be a solvent or propellant in that product that eats that type of material.

I don't use aerosol oils for that specific reason. Stick with bottle oil as it will also coat the filter better.

It would be something in the ingredients that's doing it...
Might even be the aerosol propellant !
These filter elements should last years...
Chuck it out and get a BOTTLE of filter oil...(non aerosol)..put the filter in a bag...squirt a bit of oil in with it and massage well....;)

Damn...LOST beat me to it...

i have never seen anyone else having a problem with the pj1 and i use mild dish soap to clean them with which has never caused this to happen on any of my 1/10 or 1/8 foam filters, however i use associated air filter oil on those.

Never had a problem with that Raptor and I've been using it for years now! Give me your addy and I'll send a couple of inner filters for you if you want.
J;)

Do you spray it with the nozzle REALLY close to the foam..ie closer than 50mm?

spray oil nozzle is 6" to 12" away from foam the kitchen sink spray nozzle is adjustable based on water pressure from the faucet but i even that one i keep 6 to 12 inches away from the foam ;).

You been showering with the foam haven't you raptor. The l'oreal has fecked it up - because you're worth it :lol::lol::lol::lol:
