What's up guys,

I was wondering if anyone out there is into water sports, jet boats mainly. I'm in the process of restoring a 76 Eliminator Bubble deck jet boat. I am looking at a 557 Big Block Ford with 700-750 HP. However, looking to use a 6-71 BDS Supercharger to keep the engine less radical and more drivable while achieving the the target HP range. Also, the blower pulley can be changed for more boost and power.

The boat is in barebone form and ready for paint and interior installation.

I'm into jet boats, although a slightly different style. My previous boat was a Sea Doo Utopia, and the current is a Yamaha AR230.

They take a bit to get used to the low speed handling, but I would never go back to a prop after having two jets.

Yours sounds like a monster, awesome!

Eric is? I'll have to see what they are doing. Yes, they are money pits..between the fraking built pump and race motor, I could buy a new honda civic lol. However, its racing and you pay to have a nice boat. The feeling of 100mph on water is priceless..

I have seen jets go as fast as prop boats. It comes down to money really. My 61 Belmont v drive did 79mph on 400hp. It takes twice that to run in the low 100s with jet propulsion, however, jets are safer and more manuverable. I love jet boats, it is a west coast thing really. We have nice weather and a ton of lakes and reservoirs making for the best boating in the USA. Camp far west for instance.
