Just wanting to know if anyone owns the older MCD R/C's does'nt matter if it's a MT.Buggy or Rally. How would you compare it to the newer models?

I have a gen.1 Baja1000. It's a great truck ! The newer design turns a bit better & is a bit more stable in turns. These both due to design changes. The longer suspension arms of the EVO2 & 3 are nice. The swaybars help in turns as well as the wheel design that has the off-set to the inside. I wouldn't say there is a huge difference, but the EVO models are a bit better handling. The rally car has not changed near as much. The addition of swaybars & the new bigger diffs. is about it. Hard to improve on an already Great design.

OK, I'm assuming the weight is almost the same? How about the W/B lenght and are the wheel hexes the same?

Yes weight very similar & length nearly same too. The EVO3 has no chassis plate sticking out in the rear & a new plastic front bumper. The wheel hexes are the same. The axles on the other hand are a bit shorter. For now it makes the speedline wheels the only option, without mods.. Most wheels can be machined a bit deeper where the lug nut goes. This allows thicker wheels to be mounted to the EVO design. Remember the wheel off-set on any other wheels. It will be very wide if other wheels used. I'll post a picture of an EVO2 Baja1000 converted to run FG MT tires & wheels.

Very Nice ride!!! Last questions- on the older models did'nt they come with a square tube metal roll cage? And are the gearing options the same for all models?

I have never seen one with square tubing ? They all have been small round tubing that I know of. The gearing options are the same for all models. The gears are very easy to change as well.
