Just wondering if anyone runs a 4x4 as a 2x4 and their thoughts on it.

Also, if you have a 4x4, is it a bad idea to run smaller tires in the front? Let's say TT tires in the front and MT tires in the back. What's the cause for concern with this or is it ok?

I broke a front dogbone on my new XT now its 3 X 4 LOL It Shreds like a 2wd but when u turn one way you can tell the one front is trying to pull. The Xt is more fun to me 2wd. Thinking of keeping it that way BC i have a MT too

The rear drivetrain isn't durable enough to have all the power going to it. We would need oversized diff gears, outdrives, and dogbones like the HPI guys have to have it hold up for any decent amount of time.

I lost a dogbone in my old TT along time ago. I pulled the other dogbone out and ran it 2wd for the weekend because I had to wait on parts. I blew 2 diff outdrives at the pin hole and also had a cup break.

^^Ah, I see.
How about smaller tires in the front and bigger in the back when running 4x4?
yeh thts a big no no, your smaller wheels will be trying to turn faster then your rear wheels because the size diffrence, youll put tons of stress on your drivetrains and almost garrented to brake somthing

i destroyed a diff on my hpi savage doing that
