Hi all,
Was just doing some maintenance on my Baja SS, and removed the engine fan cover to find I had snapped one of the mounting lugs off !
Its the one direclty under the engine stop switch.
I have been jumping it fairly hard recently but was surprised this broke, as the bolt only passes through the lug and then screws into the engine.
Does anybody make a heavy duty version of this fan cover ??????:hammer:

i ripped the thread out of the rear mount that, is attached to the flywheel cover, is it a good idea to have solid engine mounts but i don,t supose there,s any other way because of the spur gear mesh?????????????
 
yes, had it happen once. had the case side break on me as well.

you best to check it and make sure that isnt cracked, but im guessing you may see a hairline crack on the case part aswell.

best option is the DDM Billet Flywheel cover (69.00 USD) or the Phatdad RC billet Fan Brace has also proven to be very usefull to help eliminate this issue (usually it the case side that breaks, and when that side brakes, your a bit frakked).
 
the jb weld would last about 3 minutes.

just installing the Phatdad fanbrace will pretty much stop the breakage even from the most aggressvie running.
 
The PhatDad fan brace will stop that from happening, I know a lot of guys that jump loads and they run them...I'm saving up for mine as I recently discovered in the same place yours broke.
 
Well tha PHATDAD fan cover saver is fitted and I gave it a good thrashing at deeside today (hopefully some vids up soon in the "Deeside 9th May" thread) and all is well !:clap:
