I mounted my bracket lower than most so the pipe would clear better, then used slightly longer bolts and added washers to keep it solid. I actually had a reference photo saved on nixplay.com from a buddy's setup that helped a lot to guide the alignment. The key for mine was avoiding stress on the pipe while making sure everything stayed tight after a few runs.
