I was kinda curous if anyone has the new 27.2 CY 4 bolt yet?I picked one up fromhttp://www.zerogravityrc.com/ and plan on having some porting work done to it, the person doing the work is claiming over 5+hp out of these:D and Kevin also picked one up also,we plan on putting these in out Nutechs..:cup-1:

tmr performance has had some great success with the new cy f270, claims very good power, responds very well to modest porting and after 5 gallons of a customer beating on a ported version it hardly looked like it had run. im interested to hear more about the cy f230, haven't heard anything on them.

Tmr is the one who is going to be doing our porting work,I talked to al on the phone and he told me what he all plans on doing, sounds like the place to go ;)

tmr talks big, have yet to hear any customer feedback, however he does seem to have have some good knowledge. he is going to be building his own tall deck blocks, using longer connecting rods with stroker cranks to get the correct rod ratio and not machine the heads. be interesting to see how his stuff is.

He explained to me on the phone what he all plans on doing, and it is alot for the amount of money were are spending. we are getting the best bang for the the buck you can say..on the most parts our engines will come with a warranty, and they will be a drop in and already broke in also..:cup-1:

well, from everything i personally read posted by him specifically on this new cy 4bolt motor, about all the testing and help he was doing with/for cy on this new 4bolt, i would of atleast thought ANY of the motor info he gave would have been correct, but it was all wrong. he said it would be a 35mm bore, its a 34, he said it would have a 2mm crank, it is stock, he also said it would NOT WORK with the zen 4bolt, guess what, it works just fine.

maybe there is a communication gap somewhere, but so far, i have yet to really read any posts that would entice me sending any money in that direction.

the cy 4 bolt so far seems to be ok. not really been out long enough to get any real world feed back... and with the zen 4 bolts only costing 10ish more, and often near the same price, most folks, especially your builders, just have no reason to use them.

for info clarity, the new CY 4 bolt is a CY270. it is not a 27.2cc motor. it is a 4 bolt topend, 26cc motor (34mm bore x 28mm stroke = 25.5cc ie, 26cc) same as the Zen G270. it is a 34mm bore with a 28mm stroke, which is a 26cc. a 27.2cc requires a 2mm stroker crank. and to date, CY is the only company to offer a 2mm stroker in a factory production motor. they do it with the 35mm bore topends, yielding the 27cc and 29cc cy 2 bolt motors (note: Again not the 27.2 or the 28.5 motor. 35mm bore with 28mm stock stroke crank is a 26.9cc ie 26cc, the same topend on a 2mm stroker is a 28.7cc ie 29cc motor).

these cylinders also get used for the shinney pop top motors. those ones with the big leaky billet cooling heads on them the cy manufactures. the ones that make Purdy paperweights.

not trying to be anal, but im anal about correct info. and yes sometimes im wro, wroo, wr..
wrong (whew, got it out) but that is typically on new items, and i ll typically apply a disclaimer like... From all that i have Read, or From my best guess ect......

anyways, im sure we ll get some real world info the longer the motor is out.

ive read a few different places that the f270 is a 35mm x 28mm engine. ive also read that the tollerences are a lot tighter and they are using a different process for the finish of the cylinder. apparently this porcess leaves the bore straigher and closer to prefectly round, apparently better than a zenoah cylinder. be interesting to see how these cylinders work out, but im really more interested in the billet tall deck blocks and long rod setups that TMR has in the works (the long rod comes from syndicate performance)
