Its further along then you think. You know, with the pick and choose ops. Trolls walking the line and only getting sly encouragement from the op / s. you know.

I understand friends are friends, but for the community to grow and be friendly to new people stuff like that puts a bad taste in your mouth, that requires more mouthwash than the murse in the market thread could over hold.

Its just like every other forum ive (been - past tense) on. Everytime someone new who could possibly bring tons of information to the forum shows up, they get picked up for their oppinions, and you see them slowly fade back away. So the community gets stuck in a rut with the same people talking about the same stuff.

I was excited to see a true ALL LARGE SCALE site, with no knocking of any models, be it HPI, KM redcat, FG, FS, and whatever else the china men are throwing out. But its discouraging to see this type of stuff. and then people spending there next 10 post after an arguement making kiddish comments about it all over the forums.

I know for a fact a few of the guys on here agree with it, but don't want to stir the pot. Thats fine, I'll take my bad attitude to the grave with me, But atleast I can gaurentee you the knees in my jeans wont be worn out.

Here is my deal I believe the clones are a good idea. They force innovation and keep prices lower for the consumer. I can understand that HPI would be annoyed if they spent the money to research it and them someone comes by and just copies it. But at the same point the clones also help them out. Many of the parts I buy for my clone are HPI parts. If I had heard reviews that the HPI original was a better quality all around then I would have bought it. But many of the parts that I had fail on my KM also I have heard fail on the HPI.

So the clones make it more affordable for some entry people to get into the hobby and find out they really love it. If HPI keeps there quality standard higher and innovative you will see those people quickly outgrow the clones. And move to the main HPI.

One thing I have always found slightly annoying about RC in general is the fact that when things break or don't work its almost as if it is expected. This hobby completely caters to the guy who loves to tinker. That is a bit frustrating to the main stream. Now I as well as most people here probably love tearing down a truck as much if not more then driving it. But this astounds my friends who are not geeks or are not in the hobby.

Just my two sense. By the way you can thank IBM clones for the current state and popularity of the computer market today. Imagine if that never happened I doubt many of us would have a PC to be typing on this forum with.

I don't really care what you think all im saying i don't like KM and so do alot of other people
out there so stop crying about it

My question was to ask if anyone had used these tires, and if they are worth buying. My question isn't about brand loyalty or who is ripping who off. Some times when money is tight, and times are hard, people shop around for a good deal. No reason to get all upset over someone buying KM intstead of HPI, or Hostile, or any other brand.

My brother owns an hpi baja 5b, and I own a KM baja T1000. I liked the HPI my brother bought but couldn't afford one so I bought a KM. HPI, and all the other after market guys still get my money when I need parts.

i own a genuine personally but i have no brand loyalty myself, i just happen to have teh cash for the genuine so i bought a genuine. i do at times wish i would have saved some bucks and bought a km but didnt, so now i have an 800.00 5B with 2700.00 in aftermarket parts instead of a 5 to 600.00 baja with 2900 to 3000.00 in aftermarket parts, either way you go or what choice you make you WILL have to fix something that fails.

all companies have a failure rate of some sort plain and simple and some will get absoulute garbage while others get pure gold or diamonds if you prefer.

the point is the hpi fanboys who jump on km and rovan every chance they get are bad for teh largescale baja community, those with closed minds to the "clones" are also bad for the larescale baja community.

the fact is that largescale baja owners be they hpi, km, or rovan are going to be buying hpi branded parts or aftermarket parts so teh aftermarket part makers and hpi will get some cash out of clone sales, second genuine hpi's are more expensive so hpi doesn't need to sell as many to make the same cash as a clone company, third ALL bajas are made in asia plain and simple just like teh majority of items you buy daily from places like wal-mart.

i do agree with others here , if you don't want to discuss clones or don't have anythign constructive to say then stay our of the clone section.

like i said i have a genuine hpi but my mind is not closed off or brainwashed by the crowd that thinks km and rovan are ripping off hpi, the fact is this, it may in fact cost more in the long run buy buying a clone but the initial cost makes it more likely to add people into the largescale baja ranks.

I do not know about the ones I posted above, but the "rovan" wheel we have bought from scott @ zerogravity all had the metal rings.

i got my truck off Dan so it has the KM knobby's all way round, i will say from the running i have done they work great offroad, but noticed on asphalt with some slides ans spins, it eats the knobbies down, but, for offroad they last long time, good tires for offroading.

i have a rovan 5b. it came wit the clone hostile's on them... they are good to go in my book... granted i am new to the 1/5th scale. and don't have alot to compare it to. but i am happy with them. now my lawn is not very happy wit them... lol by the way, sorry to crash on the km pages. but there is no rovan page that i seen, and hey, i want to get along... lol i will say i have my tires mounted on hpi wheels wit hpi hd yellow bead locks also. but my stock rovan wheels did not have the metal ring in them... got my baja from dan.. thank you dan... you rock...

i have seen the rovan clone mxs rip and they destroy everything they run over just like the real deal hostiles. i own a king motors clone and had no problem buying one after owning 3 hpi savages. the way i looked at it my savages were prob about 5 % hpi by the time i was done with them. so i figured the kingmotors baja will end up the same way in the end 5 % kingmotors. either way driving it as compared to driving an hpi i couldnt tell the difference. and my kingmotors baja has survived some crashes that my friends hpi has not.

our point exactly, they are just as good have the same goods and bads as each other. but Km cost a lot less to start off with, my T1000 has alot of aftermarket and hpi parts on it now prolly like at least 40 to 50% not KM anymore.
