Are 8-pole motors for real?

I'm wondering if the 8 pole Surpass "Rocket" motors, 56mm variety are for real? Or is this just some gimmick? Are they really 8 pole? If so, why?
 
Interesting find. I wonder if it’s hard on the ESC. I believe the XLX2 can’t handle 6-pole motors over ~1400kv.

Though I will say that the big TP 6-pole motors are super smooth. I highly recommend.
