Has anyone heard of Area rc? Are they just another clone company thats sells junk ?

Reason i ask is that i want to buy these threshold rezzies but i don't want to pay $180 + $35 international postage lol

http://shopping.netsuite.com/s.nl/c.885035/n.1/it.A/id.5095/.f

But i found these ones from Area rc they are very simular product 99.9 % identical but $60 cheaper + $8 national postage

http://powerslideracing.com.au/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=28_46&products_id=5310

what do you guys think should i pay the extra $60 and go with the well known brand ?

extra... get the real deal...

I don't know but I have sent him pm's on another forum and messages right in his threads to buy some stuff and he has never replied at all. Seems fishy.

Thanks guys for your advice

i think i might go with the real deal to be safe rather than sorry, i have no cloned parts on my baja so why would i start know

Just out of interest, are you looking at getting these because A they've been proven to make the original shocks $180 better? or B because they look good?

Both  But mostly to improve the suspension

Believe me Mike, they make a hell of a lot of difference. They are just not for show.

Outta,I'd get the original for peace of mind.I'm not one of these that think you should just buy original parts like some on this forum because as you know I have original and clone cars.
Also, there is aftersales support from Threshold. And another thing, while your at it buy the 'Umbrella seals' from them as well as the seals that are provided are shite.I ordered DS ones too and they were crap.
J.
There is a vid I put up on here on how to set them up.Use motorbike fork oil in 15WT for cracking all round damping.

Cheers voo,

I have decided to go with threshold rezzies rather then the copies and yes they do make a huge difference compared to stock setup, Im also going to add Threshold "Crowns" Pre-Load Adjustment Collars, then only need 8mm shock shafts to complete the ultimate suspension setup :D

never bothered with the 8 mm shafts as I have not bent any as of yet but there is always the first time.

I got a question for you guys. I too have been thinking of getting these. But I always snap off the bottom plastic part that goes into the lower arm. Or the shaft just pulls out if it doesn't break but it usually breaks. Is it because there is no give in the FLM arms now or just because I am a crappy driver haha.

Get some killer RC cables... that will stop the issues your having.

Looking good voo :) but why's it in two halves did you break it

Yeah 6mm shafts do the job, i suppose we should only upgrade as we break parts ! what do you think of the PreLoad Adjustment Collars ?

Collars are the dogs danglies mate,no need to measure anymore.
It was in two halves as I was in the middle of a rebuild...(in the middle of another now!)

Rezzies

Hello I just wanted to say that I own both the threshold rezies V2 and the Area RC ones for the baja and the AREA are just about the same, I had to redo the fittings using nitrile o-rings as the plastic washers that came as seals were very bad but once I have set them up they are the same as the threshold ones, the rezzys itself are the same aluminum and you can´t tell the difference, and the shocks are very smooth without leaks nor air bubbles. They come with two sets of springs two pair softer and two pair harder and with the rezzy pistons, totally customizable. I actually prefer the V1 design as you can be sure you have no air bubbles in the system looking at the tubing.

In my oppinion they are perfect, same as the threshold ones.

Also you can change the polyurethane hoses easily if you want to make them longer or shorter, also with colors available, you can get them in any hardware store.
