Hi everyone,
Hope you are all well and enjoying the warm weather. I want to add a 1/5 scale electric RC to my collection. I would appreciate any feedback on the Arrma Kraton 8S. If anyone out there already owns one what are the pros and cons? I already have a Traxxas XRT. The only upgrade I made to it was to rework the battery box with a GaragelifeRC battery tray and straps. Other than that it runs good and has been very reliable and durable. So, let me know what you think of the Kraton 8S or another model you would recommend.

Take a look on YouTube. Exocaged rc does a pretty good comparison video between the XRT and the Kraton 8s. It all depends... what are your intentions with it? I've had a few xmaxxes, an XRT, several 1/8 Arrmas, and a DBXL-E 2.0. I honestly had the most fun with the DBXL-E 2.0
 
The Kraton is similar in size to your XRT but much heavier. That is good for making it feel planted, and bad for durability. The stock electronics are much better than Traxxas and it can handle upgraded power as well.

What kind of driving will you do?

Thanks for your input. I retired 11 years ago and took up this hobby. Its a great way to spend quality time with my grandkids. We are not racers or bashers, we are more like crashers! We have a small ramp for now and a very large park behind my house so we have plenty of room to run these large vehicles. Most of my experience is with 1/5th scale gas powered cars. I have a HPI Baja 5B, it is 11 years old and still runs great. I also have a Losi 5T. The gas cars a a lot of fun but require a lot of maintenance. I am venturing into the electric cars for a change of pace.

You should go to the Arrma Forum, where I spend all my time since I have 9 Arrma RCs.

I have a K8S and love it. It was my first 1/5th car and can take mods like a mother. I’ve never seen the XRT in person, but from videos it looks more agile than the Kraton out of the box.

My Kraton is far from stock now and I’m loving every second of it
