Attack of the flying "Leaf"

I found this last night flying around my bug zapper. At first I thought it was a bat.
I held up a dollar bill for a size and color comparison.




Next to Meli's hand...

Even the wings are furry!

Doesn't it look like a leaf? I was surprised, I live in the US so we don't usually get bugs this big! I thought it was an amazing camouflage, if this were in a tree you would never see it.

I saw one like that as well last year on my front lawn by the neighbours fence. It was huge for a moth! Global warming!

I too saw one of those for the 1st and last time (until now) on my front porch. They are huge and cool looking. How about hitting a field of those on your bike? Ouch, I though June bugs were bad. OK, June bugs are bad...
