A relative was showing me a new Husquavarna chain saw the other day and showed me the "auto tune" feature for the carb. I'm wondering why have'nt I seen this option for large scale R/C using gas engines? I'm really not very good at tuning the engine and would love to have this feature. :)

Not familiar with Husqvarna's.

Tuning a large scale really isn't a big deal - pretty simple really, and they generally keep their tune unless there's a major change - weather extreme, fuel ...
Both of these shouldn't really change - fuel certainly not.

Adding something that probably isn't necessary just adds complication, cost, and 'just another thing that may go wrong'.

I plead ignorant to the 'H' system, but know that these large scales generally just don't go wrong unless you push too far.

PS Welcome to LSF.

The Husquavarna chainsaw have a carb or fuel injection? Never seen auto tune on a carb but have seen it on many engines with fuel injection. A chainsaw is not near the high performance as the engines we run.

Chainsaw turn about 9,000 RPM and the motors we run go up to 19,000 RPM.

Will not be long before all engines have fuel injection do to the EPA. EFI is MUCH better then a carb not only for emissions but all so performance. A carb has 3 circuits when ever they are between circuits you do not get a good air fuel mixture but with EFI you get the proper mixture no mater the RPM.
