Can we use the booties from the Hpi on the Mcd shafts to protect them from sand and mud. when the RR wants to get dirty ?

They look like they would fit but does anyone know if the MCD hubs have enough room to fit the booties.

Cheers

Yep they fit on all the joints except for the wheel axle's on both ends.
The cup on the drive axle's are to large, were as the other joints are a bit small, so you may want to use some wire or cable tie to hold it up.

hI there

shporsche

Thanks so much for the link .

This is good clear stuff .

I wonder if you applied a bit of heat to the hpi and stretch them will they fit the axels ?

If not we got the Elcon to fall back on .

Who else makes these size booties?

Will Fg fit?

Regards

Hey,
No probs, you may be able to stretch the boots with heat, Im not sure, havnt tried.

I havnt done much research on different boots, as its not a requirement for me were I drive.
The FG boots may fit, I havnt owened a FG before.
Ive had a BAJA 5B, now I have the MCD BAJA 1000.
I used the boots from my previous HPI.

A bit off context but I must say the reason why I don't have the BAJA 5B anymore. I use the R/C's on a large grass track, roughly a 3 min track.
I had the BAJA 5B for 1 year investing over $4000. I thought the thing was a weapon, huge power(ported 26cc Earthsurfer) very fast.
Until I had a mate who introduced me to MCD, as he had a EVO 2 to sell(stock no upgrades, 29cc engine).
The first time I used it, I couldnt believe the control and accuracy it was refined and predictable. I shaved 3 seconds of my best lap with the BAJA 5B on my second lap. I poop's me because I could have the MCD for $1800, but I spent over $4000 on the BAJA 5B, not happy!!!
So I sold the BAJA 5B and now I will never look back.

Sorry had to tell someone the story, I didnt want to start a new thread as this subject could be quite contreversal.

Hi there

That is a good story.

the mcd looks like a good investment

they handle great from what I see .

4wd is great .

I am getting the evo 3 baja 1000 . 28.5 jetpro cant wait mate.

I got a rocket already but need more traction like the mcd

My fg leoppard is 19 lbs and has a ported 26 zenoah it is stinkin fast hpi is not in the game if you know what I mean .

I will outrun any baja 5 SS( never got beat by one yet) as my buggy is 19 lbs piped power it ripps.

What I like about the HPI is the jumping as the truck is longer . Racing oval is the game for me.

Power sliding on the corners and slalom . YEAH BABY !! that is where the fun

I am glad to be on the MCD team soon.

I will be machining mane good parts out of alloy for the mcd let me know if you need anything

Cheers
