it will fit however you will need additional upgrades to make it work, you will also need to upgrade the bit that will connect to. there is a different alloy carrier that will work with your standard layshaft brake, might be a better option.

sperea could you let me know what other part so that i can order it, and does this part at ddm MS290 GOOD for the diff cover or is there anything better and cheaper.

What front brakes would u suggest or they r not required. I heard the rear shock springs are not very good is that right or just bs. Pls advise.

im not 100% certain, my 4wd is all plastic and my 2wd is all elcon alloy which is a different set up, from looking at comp models I would say it needs a special layshaft brake set up, the standard layshaft break is not compatible with this gear carrier.

if you don't want to upgrade your brakes you will need to order a different type of gear carrier.

knowing how crap the stock brakes are it would prolly be worth you while to do the brakes anway

which one do u recommend but they should be available form ddm pls, or let me know where to order. are they really so bad that they don't work at all, or is it a better option to buy a porsche 4wd than the baja 4wd.

i have two FG baja's and love them. I wouldnt go through the trouble of changing models just because of a gear carrier.

i don't know enough to accuratly advise you but here are my suggestions, ive been running the stock plastic gear carrier for over 18 months and never had a problem, unless you want bling stick to plastic, FG plastics are the best in the business.

if you want an alloy gear carrier get the one you posted but look into a compatible braking system for it.

my buddy, Scott from vancouver hobbies has an fg4wdbaja with the alloy carrier you linked to, i'll ask him to take pic of the other bit...he's got cable brakes front and regular brakes on the rear i believe.
on a side note we clocked it gps at 48.1mph with a ddm dom and a thrown together out of old parts 28.5 motor...it's the only 4wd i've seen that'll pull wheelies just with power...downside is it doesn't do corners very well compared to the nutechs or my hurrax, even with front cvd's the lock is pretty poor but damn it's fast

it's got custom reservoir shocks and is set up well with spring rate and damping for our tracks here but the lock is pants...fine on loose dirt where you can drift it but the overall lock angle is way less than the nutech and hurrax. my 2wd fgbaja had way more lock but understeered like a b'stard cos it was so light on the front end, the 4wd has less lock and is also real light on the front hence the wheelies. you can hit the corner, smack on the brake to load up the front but then the lack of lock becomes it's Achilles's heel. FG have now discontinued the 4wdbaja in favour of the 4wdleopard which does way better in the corners.
