sorry if this is the wrong forum.

the exhaust on my baja shorty is melting the bottom of my fuel tank, it did have some sort of metal covering below it but I don’t know how but that is now missing… just trying to find out what it was underneath the tank that reflects/stops the heat from the exhaust burning into the tank so I can replace it

I'm no expert but I don't think they really have any heat shielding. What I would try to prevent the tank from burning is wrapping your exhaust with exhaust wrap, and then adding heat reflective tape on the bottom of the tank
