just got a new throttle brake servo took my standard hpi linkage off to give it a bit of a clean before refitting it, thats were the trouble began, lol i set the servo to the middle at 90 degre,s how it was at first but it would,nt open the throttle to fully open, so i adjusted the trim to suit then it would open fully but when the brake is aplyed the throttle opens slightly, i,ve adjusted the spring on the linkage but i,am getting no where fast anyway ive been on it for hours and its cracking me up help,lol:lol::lol::lol::mad::mad::lol::lol::mad::mad:

Hi Paul,
Have you tried the servo's operation without the servo horn on - check the throw?
Are the splines on the inside of the horn / outside of the servo outlet OK or are they worn?
Was the servo horn fully pushed onto the servo?
I'd reset the Tx to default and re-start.
Al.

the servo and the horn are both new, it seems to be working fine i,am thinking maybe the linkage has seen better days so have orderd a new one from abbots rc lets hope that do,s the job?

is the new servo the same as the old one? Even if it is you may need to reset the EPA.

yea the servo arms the same, ive reset the transmiter to so the arms moves 90 degre,s each way thats doing it by the hpi hand book and its suposed to all work fine but mine is only giving just over half throttle but the brake works good, i,ve seen phat dad vid on youtube on setting the linkege it all looks so simple so i followed it and still the same, lol

Have you got the facility on you radio to make the throttle function on the servo move more than it is?

p.s I might be able to take a look if you like.

cheers mike i sat down and had a read of the handbook that came with the transmiter and found the endpoint was set way off the linkage has a lot of play aswell but theres a new one on its way:cup-1::cup-1:

the new hpi linkage arrived today from abbots rc fitted it and it now opens throttle fully, but when the brake is applyed it pulls the throttle arm a tiny bit shutting the butterfly only by about half a millimetre but i know when its running that it will prob, cut out when the brake is applyed, i,ve done every adjustment there is to do but i have noticed there is a small amount of drag as the throttle link bar passes thr the black plastic collar i think i remember a mod were people would drill the plastic collar out a tiny bit eliminating the drag has anyone try,d this mod??????

swimman throttle linkage..

how you guys doing? i personally use the swimman thottle linkage... you can find it on ebay or i believe he has a site... it cost $23 shipped (roughly) and it is even more of a simple design then the yamadudes... i did drill out the glider and used some dry lube cause i run 90% on the beach... but have not had a single problem... he also offers a carbon rod model. i think its about $33 shipped... i will say the thottle rod does have a little play. so after a few months i changed it over to a thicker throttle rod. probably should have gotten the carbon one right off the bat... but seems to work flawlessly... check it out... its a good option... in my opinion.. :)

i forget something everytime... lol

i would like to add i am still running the stock servos for throttle/brake, and steering... end points are set at 98-99% and all still works well. i can lock up the rear brakes on pavement wit mx's on the rear....

What was the problem? Glade you got it sorted out.

the simplest of things the little bar that push,s the arm on the carb has a black screw on adjuster it should be 50mm from end to end i had it set to 45mm. been looking at yamadoodle linkages but people seem to have problems with them and thats the last thing i need, lol as my dad would say don,t fix it if its not broke.

I've been looking at getting the same one , but not sure if I should get the carbon one. I will take that in to consideration. Good to know.
