hi guys

atm im using elcon XL rear wishbones, because of the extra length the standard 2WD FG dogbones are too short, so ive been using the FG front dogbones off the 4WD baja which fit ok as they are longer than the rears, problem is after a few runs 1 of my dogbones snapped, it may have been just bad luck or it could have been that the FG front dogbones arent up to the task of being used on a 2WD setup with a zen 29cc mill & i aint been out with my MB since this happened, so im thinking of getting the elcon XL balldrive setup which was designed for the XL wishbones.

Anyone have any info on these, are they reliable, good for bashing etc & fit correct! as im sure i read a while back that they didnt fit properly (too short) ?

any info much appreciated as atm elcon are doing a deal for the complete XL balldrive setup (including output yolks) for 70 euro.

Cheers guys :)

I was running ball drives for a while but had a problem so removed them... The rubber seals spilt and let a lot of Sandy crap in and it wore its way through the rear drive cup quite quickly...
They performed brilliantly with smooth power delivery and I was only using standard length versions.
When I can afford it I will repair and reinstall them.
So I would put my problem down to my own fault of not checking the seals often enough.
With good maintainable they should do you well.

Mine were fg items so not sure on Elcon ones...

cheers for info dude, not sure what to do.. i might keep going with dogbones see how they hold out, if they snap again then will give the ball drive a go :)

cheers again mate ;)

hiya mate

Ones i need are around 112mm is the length from end to end, atm the ones im using are off the front drive for the 4WD FG Baja, but they are around 105mm so im having to use washers to push the cups out so the shaft fits snug, see pic below where the drive cup is, ive used washers..
