I would buy the RTR with phat dad shaft kits ,the SS are junk. The shaft is strong but when you break the plastic heim it is toss it time.

That is my .02

Oh yeah you want good shocks get a set of four front baja bodies and set of four threshhold Rezzies to go along with them little coin but man are they worth it.

No I am saying stay away from the SS (HD) shaft they have a press on plastic heim which when it breaks instead of shaft you still have to buy a new shaft. RTR have screw on shafts.

Gas jocky will be trying to get me a pair soon.So if you are really interested in the TB II shock maybe he can order 2 sets.

BTW they are the pro version. The regular TB II version have plastic on them...thats what the Nutech guy told me.

sorry nanoali, everyone is currently out of stock of the tb2 shocks and ddm don't sell them
the 6mm phatdads should work for you...hope you bought the front shafts only...rears are way too long...you'll need hpi front bodies on the rear and the ramp rear bodies on the front or 4 rear ramp bodies
so i need to buy 2 front hpi set shocks for use on rear only? can i use 2 front set shock in front too? this way i will have 4 equal shocks on my TT.

Do they really work sprint? Is it more of a track item than a basher item?
Well they work great for tuning on track.

However since they are a true resevoir if you were to jump real high you would likely not blow a shock seal or bend a shaft since the fluid has some place to go quickly.

So yes like I said they are pricey but once you drive with them you will think they were a bargain.

you can use the baja rears on the front but they are a bit too long so you will lose some suspension travel, the most common way is to use the rear bodies on the fronta nd use the inner shock mount hole so you maintain the same up travel...you will also need to make spacers at the bottom for the spring retainers to clear the arms.... here's a link how to

here's a links for shock options that explains everything you need to know to use hpi combos...one other thing I'd recommend is using the hpi top inserts that the ball end lips into...stops the shocks leaking there as they do with the redcat ones

I know when my current set up fails i'll be using tb2's all round they're more than good enough for bashing, very smooth and have volume compensation bladders inside them to allow for the shaft displacement
very interesting info, and complete too. thanks a lot moo!!
