I have a very old MRC AA quick charger/slow charger. At the time (15 years ago) it was meant to charge nicads. If I used some NiMh AA cells, do you think this charger could charge them on a slow charge? I would never fast charge them.

Just curious.

Just my oppinion.
I would not take the chance. I hear that the NIMH's are charged with a faster charge then what a NICAD can take but I would just buy yourself a good charger that you can trust and not ruin your good NIMH batteries with.

Technology has changed a lot in the last few years. Get a good charger and be done with it for another 4-5 years. Its a small price to pay. don't think about the battery's, think about what there in and what could happen if they go south on you.

I use both of these units. The larger one is awesome. It will peak charge and hold them as long as you want. It will also discharge if needed. Both have a home plug and a car plug. Good price on 2600mah batts as well.

Don't risk it! the old charger will work but it will always over charge the NIMH cells. Spend the $ on a peak charger that will go down to 1 amp or less charge rate
