I have an imax charger and I use a 5 amp toshiba laptop power supply. it worked fine charging 5000 mah 4s lipos at 5 amps. I actually have 2 of these chargers and power supplies. hard to beat $12 for a power supply that plugs right into the side of the charger

Most chargers will work off a laptop power supply, but they will also require you to make a $5 adapter as they usually come with banana plugs.

It has been dropped off the workbench about 15 times and fell off the battery in my S-10, dropped through the wheel well, was then ran over by the back tires.
