I just got my first nitro rc i believe its the red cat shockwave but im not positive anyways the guy i got it from said it just needs a pull start and a new clutch bell. How do i know if the clutch bell needs replacing? Its a little loose but not broken also could i just replace the bearing on the inside of it?

Just inspect the inside of the bell for wear. If it feels sloppy you need to replace the bearing.

Does the clutch bell have any broken or worn teeth on it? if so, then it should be replaced. There should be a tad bit of back and forth movement on the clutch. Maybe the seller meant that the clutch shoes needed to be replaced?

Also do you know what type of engine is in there? If you can tell us we can track down a new pull start for it.

You can replace the bearings. Check the price of the clutch bell, though. Might be cheap enough to just replace it.

Also, welcome to the forum!

Honestly, it would be great if Redcat would rewrite and print their own fully ilistrated manuals. I'm sure it would be a big expense which would make the vehicles more. Just saying it would be nice.

I believe that is because they are an American company. Other manufactures, for example MCD, might have a great manual but when redone in English might not come across as clear. I've never seen a MCD manual. I'm just thinking out loud.
